Microdermabrasion: Shine Bright Like a Diamond Review

I love this product!  It is not what I originally expected.  Instead of having tons of small gritty particles it has large diamond grit.  This makes your skin so smooth though and I have had amazing results with this product.  It has helped with acne, hyper-pigmentation and fine lines for me.  It is a moisturizing scrub which cuts down on irritation while still giving great, deep exfoliation that really does improve skin.

D.I.Y. Spa Day

What if I told you you could make yourself feel amazing and utterly pampered right in your own home?  You can!!

I'm going to share here some of my favorite products and some simple steps you can take to really relax and enjoy yourself and get head to toe pampered :)

1. Start by getting a nice warm bath going (you can do a shower if you don't have a bath) and add either a bath bomb, a bath mix, or bubble bath.  In the shower you can pick a bath mix to steam on the floor of the shower.
2. Soak or steam for a few minutes and just relax.
3. Get your hair damp and then work Posh's Tea Tree and Neem Hair and Scalp Mask into your scalp and roots of your hair.
4. Grab BFF exfoliating daily face wash and gently massage it into your face for a few minutes.  Really enjoy the exfoliation and the mint.  Rinse it off and either pat face dry with a clean wash cloth or let it dry for a minute or two.
5. Apply Drop Dead Gorgeous dead sea mud mask to your face and neck.  Relax and enjoy until mask is just starting to dry.  Read all about masking here.  Then rinse and apply either Moisturize 911 or Night and Day facial moisturizer.
6. Rinse your hair out and shampoo and condition.
7. Grab a Snarky Bar and start by exfoliating your feet then work lather and exfoliation up your legs.  Shave your legs if needed.  Gently scrub the rest of you with your Snarky Bar (you can lather in your hands and then scrub on arms and legs if needed or directly use the bar).  Rinse and drain your water.
8. Grab a nice fluffy towel and pat excess water off and apply your favorite Skindelicious Body Butter.  Go lie down in a quiet spot and rest.  You should feel very relaxed at this point and be ready to drift off or just rest for a bit.

There you have it :)  Less than 10 steps and you will feel so pampered afterwards.

How to Face Mask like a Pro

I love face masks and giving myself spa treatments at home :)  The one disadvantage, though, is that I am not a trained esthetician and I know a good amount about skin care but I have to admit I don't know it all. :)

Recently I was lucky enough to find a Posh group on Facebook ran by a Skin Care Therapist.  She has been sharing so many great things with us and the other day she taught us how to use clay masks correctly.  I am going to just use her direct quotes as much as possible. :)

"First things first: for maximum benefits, you must exfoliate before applying any mask, regardless of if the mask also exfoliates, the mask needs to be able to do it's job, without trying to cut through layers of dead skin. This doesn't mean, though, that you need to be harsh with the exfoliation."

She said she had seen a lot of us applying our masks too thickly.  "You only need enough that you don't see any exposed skin."  I love applying my mask with a brush to get a nice thin even coat.  She recommended synthetic brushes so that they don't absorb the mask.

Next she addressed the amount of time to leave the mask on your face.

"There are three phases of a clay mask, There's the damp phase where your skin absorbs the beneficial minerals from the clay or mud. Then you have the start of the dry phase, which exercises your capillaries and stimulates blood flow as the mask cools and contracts. But then there's the dry phase, which draws out moisture from the surface of your skin, causing dehydration and irritation. Not only does skin then feel dry, tight, and sometimes itchy, but when you counteract it by slathering on extra face cream, you're just smothering your freshly cleansed skin, so a thin layer is good here too."

"So, the next time you use a clay mask, don't wait for it to reach the flaky stage before you start rinsing. Do the touch test: When you start to see it drying (which usually means it gets lighter in color) but it still feels a bit sticky, it's time to wash that sucker off, so it doesn't suck the life out of your skin. If you let the mask completely dry, you are causing more damage to the skin, especially Acneic and Dry skins."

She even addressed how to get the benefits of a clay mask without irritating sensitive or damaged skin.  "Keep in mind, that clay masks alone, can sometimes be too much for sensitive or damaged skin. If this is the case, you can layer masks."

"When layering, order is extremely crucial. Soft masks should always go first, followed by a clay or mud-based mask [on top]. If you do it in reverse, the soft mask will never be able to properly penetrate. Which brings us to the two basic types of masks you should have in beauty arsenal. A soft mask, which hydrates, soothes, and calms skin, and (like Muddy Honey) does not dry. Plus a clay or mud-based mask that absorbs impurities and excess oil, and clarifies. When your skin is acting up in more ways than one, it’s difficult to treat it with a single mask. Start with a thin layer of a healing mask all over. Look for one that has soothing ingredients like chamomile, and hydrating ones, like grape seed or flax seed oil. This will relieve irritated skin, while also adding hydration to dry patches. Then, follow with a mud-based mask to help absorb oil and eliminate breakouts. Apply the second mask only to the breakout-prone areas. A mud mask alone would be too strong and overwhelming for stressed out skin. The first layer of soft mask will help your skin handle a stronger treatment."

Review: Smashing Good Pumpkin Face and Body Mask

This is my number one must have Posh product at the moment! My face is doing so much better and I have went from constant breakouts to just the occasional zit or two.

This is a face and body mask with pumpkin, tea tree oil, witch hazel and kaolin clay. It is a very gentle mask and almost feels moisturizing. It is not a clay mask that dries and hardens on your face. Instead it feels very creamy and has a very light scent.

I use this every other day after washing my face. I use about a nickel sized dollop and apply all over my face and let it sit for about 15 min then rinse and apply either a serum or moisturizer (Never Grow Up serum or Moisturize 911).

After about a week or week and a half I noticed a difference in the amount of breakouts and at 2 weeks on, my acne is all but gone (which is so weird for me!).

So how does it work?

"Witch hazel, pumpkin, salicylic acid, kaolin clay, and tea tree oil are a smashing combination! Open clogged pores, kill surface bacteria on skin, and reduce inflamed or irritated skin with this lightweight body and face mask. Help prevent acne before it starts, and gently treat those problem areas."  --Perfectly Posh's website

The pumpkin has nutrients that are great for healing and preventing acne; tea tree oil and witch hazel help keep bacteria at bay; the witch hazel, salicylic acid and kaolin clay clean your skin and help remove debris and oil. Some of my favorite things on Closeout!!

4. Viva Senorita Chunk-this is a luxurious bath bar with an amazing creamy lather and a fresh clean invigorating lime scent.  I love using this in the shower and tub because it feels so nice and smells amazing! Was $9 now $7.

5.The "it" Girl Perfume Roller-this is a sunflower oil fragrance roller with a fresh grapefruit lily scent that everyone loves.  This scent really is so amazing and I get compliments on it all of the time.   Now $7.

6. Snarky Butter-this body butter has such an amazing fresh clean scent that is so good!  It smells slightly like V.S. Pink Fresh and Clean.  It has Bergamot, Florals and Sandalwood and it is magic!  The consistency of the body butter and its moisturizing ingredients (Shea butter, almond, milk and honey) are also amazing.  This luckily is still available in another size once this size is sold out.  Was $22 now $18.

7. Scrumptious Sunshine-another Skindelicous body butter, this butter is made with cocoa butter and smells like fresh satsuma and citrus essential oils.  This is an amazing citrus scent that is so fresh!  I am really sad to see this go :(  Was $24 now $18.

These are going fast so if you see something you want, get it!  These really are amazing deals!  The one thing on the list I would not reccomend is the Catty Coral lip dye...on most people it does not actually show up :(  The rest of the Closeout list though is amazing!!

Perfectly Posh Review: Peace Love and Take a Shower Chunk Soap

So I have to be honest with you, when I first opened and smelled this I wasn't super excited about it.  I love floral and fruity smells and this was neither.  But it didn't smell bad and it even smelled kinda good.  So I decided to try it out in the shower.

This is my new favorite Chunk bar!!  It has a really nice lather (they all do, but this one really glides nicely) it also makes me feel amazing!  It has some herbs and essential oils in it that are so de-stressing and give me a boost.  I can't really explain it that well, but it makes me feel really good and relaxed and happy :)

Perfectly Posh End Mend Review and Before and After

I just got back from Uncon4 with a slew of new products to test out!!  Two that I was super excited to put to the test were the brand new End Mend Split-End Fusing Shampoo and Conditioner.

Are you thinking what I was thinking?  Split-End Fusing?  What!?

I have a ton of split ends right now so I decided I would be the ideal product tester and that I therefore needed to document my experience with a before and after shot.

Holy cow!!  I don't know if even I would have believed the difference this could make in my hair until I actually used it!

My hair feels healthier now than it has in over a year and I can't believe it!  It also is not sticky or heavy at all.

I will definitely be using this and sampling it out and sharing it with everyone!!

The product works by using Kerabeads, a super new technology using tiny, microscopic beads made of wool keratin and seaweed extracts (sources of info below).  The "beads" actively seek out the damaged parts of your hair and cling to it and even seal it together.  See video here.

If I had to rate this product right now out of 5 stars, I would have to give it at least 4.5 for sure!!  The only reason I wouldn't give it a complete 5 is because I can still see one split end.  I think that might just be because I have only used it once :)

The Caffeinator!! Bye bye tired skin!!

How amazing is that!?  ^^

First Impression: Spring Summer 2015 New Products

I got to go to The Old Spaghetti Factory at Trolley Square on Monday for a team meeting and we passed around all of the new products.  They all smelled so good!!

I'm going to try to start with my absolute must haves, but really I would love to have all of these and hopefully I soon will.  :)

First up is our new Hey Honey! Healing Body Cream.  This is so moisturizing without being greasy and it smells so good!  The scent is a light lemon, raspberry combo.  This cream boasts some amazingly natural moisturizing ingredients such as:Aloe, Sunflower Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil and of course Honey.  You get 6 oz. for $17 and a little goes a long ways!  I thought I got enough for just my hands and ended up using it on my hands and arms.

Next is our Castaway Coconut Skindelicious.  This scent immediately sends your mind to a tropical locale.  It smells exactly like a freshly chopped open coconut and moisturizes like a dream.  Mmmmm!  I am missing it right now as I am typing this and wishing I could be slathering it on myself from head to toe.  This body butter is $22 for 8 oz., and as is typical for Posh products, a little goes a long ways.  This naturally moisturizes with aloe, shea butter, coco butter, beeswax, and of course coconut oil.

The Seas the Day Chunk bar has the best name and packaging of all the new products, at least in my opinion.  This is a gorgeous peachy orange luxury bath bar.  It is huge and has beautiful marbling of ingredients visible in the bar.  It has a luscious lather and a cherry, agave scent, officially called a cherry margarita scent.  You can even use this bar to shave with! The lather is that good.  It is an amazing $9 for 7 oz. and is approximately double the size of a Dove Beauty Bar.  Key ingredients include: glycerin and wild cherry extracts.  This product is Vegan.

We Put De Lime in De Coconut actually might beat out Seas the Day for the best name.  It's a toughie!  This smells sooooo good!!  SO, so, so, so, good!  It is literally lime and coconut refreshing yummy goodness.  It is an immediate pick me up!  The key ingredients in this scrub are: sugar, sea salt, lemon and lime essential oils, coconut oil and jojoba oil.  This product is Vegan and is $24 for 9 oz.  This is a good sized tub that should last months.

One of our favorite scents is My Pink Heaven or Snarky, this is a refreshing floral/citrus/sandalwood scent.  This scent makes me feel super sexy (or gorgeously attractive if you don't like the word sexy ;)) and I love it even more in a body butter.  Now I can put it all over me and smell like a goddess.  This is $22 for 8 oz. and once again this body butter will go along ways and last a while.  Key ingredients are: Aloe, shea butter, beeswax, nonfat dry milk, honey, coco butter, sunflower seed oil, and sweet almond oil.

This scrub has real sand in it!  It's called Walk on the Beach and it is the next best thing to an actual walk on the beach.  It has a nice subtle plumeria, jasmine and plum scent.  The sand is super fine and stays all contained in the scrub.  Key ingredients: acai, jojoba, and sugar.  This is $24 for 9 oz. and it is a Vegan product.

Our new Skin Vixen Dry Body Oil is a perfect treat for perking up and beautifying your skin.  This has a light orange blossom scent.  Apply it to arms and legs for glow and amazing moisture.  I used a dry body oil while pregnant on my itchy skin as my belly was growing and it was fabulous for that too.  This is $22 for 4 oz.  Key ingredients are fast absorbing sunflower seed oil, vitamin e, and rosemary extract.  This is a Vegan product.

The "It" Girl perfume roller is a delicious girly fruity scent.  It is grapefruit, apricot and a touch of lily.  This is Vegan with almond oil and macadamia seed oil and vitamin e.  This is $14 for 0.17 fl oz.  This is a Vegan product.

The A Peel to Me Snarky Bar is a nice exfoliating bar.  These bars are so nice for a quick scrub in the shower or bath.  The scent is an extremely refreshing and sweet citrus scent.  Key ingredients: Sugar, shea butter, orange peel and orange oil and loofah.  $15 for a 6 oz. bar and this product is Vegan.

This is the newest addition to our Posh Life set.  This creamy lip butter has the signature lemon berry scent and packs on some serious moisture.  Key ingredients include: Shea butter, lemon oil, raspberry extract, rosemary extract, sunflower oil, jojoba oil, macadamia oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil and coco butter.  This is $10 for 0.5 fl oz. and it may be the best lip butter you will ever own.

I'm going to be honest.  This was the only product that I don't know if I will buy.  This bar has a lot of potential benefits but I didn't love the smell.  But hey, you might love it.  The scent is a lime and sea salt fresh fragrance.  The bar is gorgeous and huge and has a luxurious lather.  It is an off white bar with bits of light lime green in it.  Key ingredients are citric acid and lime for natural exfoliation and moisturization.  This is $9 for 7 oz. and is double the size of a standard soap bar and the lather is so much better.  This product is Vegan.

Does peeling foot skin give you the heebie jeebies?  What about super calloused, thick foot skin?  This is the most buzz-worthy of our new products.  You apply the whole tube of glycolic acid treatment to your two feet, cover with the booties, then the polka dot socks, let sit for 1 hour then wash off.  Your tootsies will begin peeling in 3 to 7 days.  Soaks can help with the peeling process, do not pull on the peeling skin or try to remove it before it is ready.

The peel will leave you with soft brand new skin on your feet!  This smells like peppermint and thyme and is one treatment for $24.  It is a Vegan product.

I'm super excited for this facial bar!  The Pore-fect bar is made to deep clean pores without drying your face out.  Meadowsweet root, tea tree, eucalyptus and blueberry deep clean pores and refresh skin while gently washing and nourishing.  This is $10 for a 7 oz. bar.  This is a lot of washing for a great price!

I'm so excited to be actually able to use this on my face consistently!  I'm Shrinking is a spot treatment to target enlarged pores.  It deep cleans and shrinks pores with kaolin, orange extract, jasmine extract, aloe, and grape seed oil.  This is $22 for 3 oz. and it is Vegan.

I love the smell of coffee!  I would live in that aisle of the grocery store if I could!  Our Daily Grind scrub has been one of my all time favorite Posh products and now it is in an even easier to use Snarky Bar solid scrubbing shea butter bar.  Yes!!  Another thing I love about these two coffee bean products is that they decrease cellulite!  (A temporary effect after each time you use it, I love to use it before I go out in my swimming suit).  This is $15 for 6 oz. and it is Vegan.

Apricots Overnight is a super hydrating and nourishing overnight mask.  This smells like sweet apricots with a touch of citrus and jasmine.  Key ingredients include: Shea butter, Argan oil, Sunflower oil, Aloe, Coconut oil and Coco butter.  This is $22 for 3 oz.

The last one that I tried (but definitely not the least) is the As Good As Gold Natural Moroccan Argan Oil Stick.  This is amazing!  The stick glides on smoothly and was made for psoriasis and eczema but it will also be amazing as a moisturizer or eye cream for aging skin due to the Argan oil.  This is $13 for 0.5 oz. and is packed with amazing ingredients.  A few of my favorites: Shea butter, argan oil, rose hip oil, coco butter, almond oil, macadamia oil, and pineapple and orange extract.  This has a light fruit scent.

This last product I did not actually get to try.  It is called Farmer's Market and it is a new Skindelicious Body Butter.  The scent was described as a watermelon jolly rancher with just a touch of cucumber by those who have used it.  Key ingredients include: Aloe, Coco butter, Sunflower seed oil, Shea butter and Cucumber extract.  This is $22 for 8 oz.
