The Goddess Project - 30 Day Self Care and Self Love Challenge

I am excited to announce a new project that I have been working on for the last month.  Self care and self love have played a huge part in me getting back to feeling like myself over the past year.  There was a long time after having my kids where I felt unhappy and burned out no matter what I did.  This spring I read an article that explained that self care was so much more than bubble baths and I realized that I had actually been doing a terrible job of taking care of myself.  It's still a work in progress but I am making progress and I am feeling so much better.

I want to share what I have learned and create a place where women can come together to work on themselves in a constructive way where we build ourselves rather than think of what we need to improve upon within ourselves.

One Step Pedicure! Perfectly Posh Schwanky & Soft

5 Tips for working at home with little ones...

I am going to be totally honest with you here....working at home with little ones doesn't always, well, work.

Today has been a great day working from home. Which made me think about what has been different today, and in general what makes a good day versus a bad day.

For me, a bad day is a day when I am stressed out and have a deadline I need to meet and of course my kids are super needy, or a day when I get a little carried away and try to do too much work.

I wanted to share some tips that should help with work-life balance and with eliminating the stress that sometimes comes with trying to work and take care of your little ones.

Tip One:

Always plan and schedule tasks well in advanced and give yourself a lot of cushion between when you think you should be able to finish it and when it needs to be done.

Tip Two:

Make an easy to complete to-do list every day with tasks broken up into bullet points that take just a few minutes each to complete.

Start out by scheduling less than an hour of work into your day in this way and as you check each task off (or don't depending on the day), re-evaluate if you can get a few more things done today or if you need to move some stuff to the next day.

Tip Three:

If your kids are being needy, stop what you are doing and spend time with them.

If they are playing quietly by themselves grab your list and try to check off one thing at a time until they need you again or once you have a few things checked off go play with them and enjoy :)

Tip Four:

Set timers to keep up with household chores and to keep yourself from getting sucked into social media.

Set a ten minute timer and clean as much as you possibly can.  Set another timer for a few minutes when you need to do something on social media or when you just want to check social media. Make sure you get off your device when your timer rings.

Tip Five:

Make a to-do list before getting on social media and use it so you don't end up mindlessly browsing when you need to be working.

Bonus Tip:

Ask for help.  Tell your spouse you need some uninterrupted time a few times a week (or once a week or whatever you need) to work. Come up with an easy activity for him/her to do with the kids if needed.

You can also swap childcare with another work from home parent.  You can take the kids once a week and play while your friend works and your friend can take them once a week while you work.

Perfectly Posh New Face Masks!! - Spring Summer 2017

I love, love, love face masks!  I have owned every single Posh face mask during the last few catalogs and I still have about 20 of them, ha ha!  They last forever and they are all sooooo good!  I am super excited about the most recent launch because Posh has included a lot of great information about using the face masks.

This video shows each mask and talks about when to use an either off (deep cleansing) mask or an on (moisturizing and nourishing) mask and how often to use each depending on skin type.

This last graphic explains each mask and categorizes them into elimination and moisturizing masks.  If you have dry skin it is so good to do an elimination mask and then a moisture mask after you rinse the elimination mask off.  Read this post to see how to do a facial like a Pro!

Perfectly Posh Spawesome Chunk Bar Review!

Welcome to my blog!!  Today I have a review of one of my favorite products ever from Perfectly Posh.  Let's jump right in, shall we?

This is the Spawesome Chunk Big Bath Bar and it is huge!!  It is a Vegan bar of soap made in the U.S.A. and it smells like eucalyptus and mint.  The scent is so relaxing and fresh!!  The eucalyptus and mint is also great when you are stuffed up because it opens up your sinuses.  I love that!  I am actually usually more of a fruity scent person but once I used this bar I was in love.  I love the rich, creamy lather and the relaxing scent.  This bar feels so good to use!  It has argan oil and it makes for a super soft and moisturizing lather.  It also has little beads in it that give you a bit of exfoliation which I love.  It gives me the perfect amount of scrub mixed in with that rich, creamy, foamy lather and I absolutely love it.  It makes me feel so relaxed and pampered every time I use it!

Ingredients wise this bar is pretty amazing.  It has argan oil as I said above, which has Vitamins A &E which are antioxidants that protect your skin from environmental damage.  Argan oil also has anti inflammatory and anti aging properties and it absorbs quickly into your skin.  Argan oil can also help your skin regulate its oil production so it is not too oily or too dry.  This bar also has Glycerin which is a skin identical moisturizing ingredient that works by attracting moisture to your skin.  Most soaps are made with tallow which is rendered animal fat but Posh's chunks are all made from Sodium Palmate which is derived from palm oil.  This gives a richer lather and is more moisturizing.  Another nice thing is that Posh only uses Rain Forest Alliance certified palm oil because it is sustainably sourced.

I would definitely give this bar 5/5 stars due to the lather, scent, exfoliation, moisturization and ingredients.  I also love the packaging and the bar itself is gorgeous!  Do you see where it says "Namaste in the tub all day"?  I want that on a T-shirt!

Everything You Need to Know About Joining Perfectly Posh!

All the questions I wanted answers to before I joined Posh:

I am a very cautious and thorough person.  I asked my friend a million questions before I decided Posh was for me!  These are all the questions I asked but instead of her answers I have written my own since I joined and have had my own journey.

Q:  How soon can I earn back my $99?  How soon did you earn back yours?

A:  You can earn it back with your first party and be paid the next Wednesday.  I sold just over $600 at my first party and earned about $120 plus another five percent of the party total because I promoted to Pink in the first month.  

Q:  Do I need to buy other things to get my business started?

A:  No.  You may want to get a few things after you have been in for a bit but the kit comes with everything you need to get started.  The new Posh kits come with all of the product you need to get started (and then some), samples to share, catalogs, a starter guide, 3 Posh bags, your protégé pin, and your ritual face mask.  You will also have special offers on any additional tools you might want from the posh portal.

Q:  Are there monthly quotas?  Minimum inventory requirements?  Required autoship purchases?

A:  No.  Perfectly Posh allows you to run your business how you see fit.  You do not have to have an on hand inventory.  We do not have monthly requirements for activity.  To remain an active consultant you must sell $300 every six months.  This runs from January 1st to June 30th and from July 1st to December 31st.  You are exempt during the six month period that you join within.  We do not have any autoship requirements.  You can choose what you want to order and when you order it.

Q:  How much will my commission be?

A:  Posh offers a competitive pay plan that starts at 20% as a protégé.  As soon as you have $1,000 in sales (PV) you hit Pink and get bumped up to 25%.  It is possible to do this within one month and to never be paid at the 20% (I did this).  Once you hit Pink you are always Pink and will always make 25%.  You can continue up the ranks of the pay plan to earn more personal commission and to earn commission off of your downline.

You can also earn more if you buy products on sale or use the buy 5 get the 6th free and even party perks and keep them on hand as inventory to sell at full price.  Doing this can yield a commission of 61.7% or higher.  I am happy to help you more with this or explain it further if you would like.

Q:  How does Posh pay?

A:  Commissions based on Protégé or Pink rank are direct deposited to your bank account weekly on Wednesday.  Pay based on your downline or additional rank will be paid monthly on the tenth and will once again be direct deposited.

Q:  Do we get a wholesale price?

A:  No.  Many times if customers know that you pay a certain price and then mark your product up they will want a discount.  By having consultants pay the full price and then receive their commission back on their purchase, this awkward situation is avoided.

For example if I want to buy $100 in product for myself or my inventory, I pay $100 then on the next Wednesday I am paid $25 commission on this sale.  Plus I earn $10 worth of perks to use on future orders.  So, in total I paid $75 for my product but because I paid full price and did not receive a discount or special pricing I should be able to avoid having customers, family or friends asking for things at "my price."

Q:  What resources does Posh have for new consultants?

A:  We have the Posh Prep Academy with daily training for the first 30 days and training every 5 days for days 30-90.  You will receive a training email every day during the first 30 days.

Along with the training is the Props program.  This has specific goals for you to meet by day 15, 30, 60, and 90.  For meeting these goals you earn $279 in Free Tools and over $209 in free product.

Q:  What rewards and recognition does Posh offer?

A:  Tons! 

Every week we have weekly contests and prizes on our Posh Talk Facebook page.  The contests are fun and easy and are all aimed at taking steps to be successful in your business. 

We also have our Props for new Perfectly Posh consultants that I explained more in the previous section.  By completing your Props you not only set up a successful business, you also are rewarded with a Prep Academy tote bag, $180 credit for product and $180 credit for business tools or Posh gear.

You are also recognized for each rank advancement.  When you sign up you will get your Protégé pin and certificate, when you have sold $1,000 in product you will advance to the rank of Pink and receive a T-shirt, pin and certificate.  As you continue up the ranks each advancement will give you a pin and certificate of recognition, when you hit Premier you will be receive a super plush Posh robe and it gets even more amazing from there.

At Silver Premier you will be taken on a special trip to Tiffany's.  You will be awarded with a Tiffany's bracelet with a Perfectly Posh silver charm.  The front of the charm will say Perfectly Posh and the back will have your name and the month and year that you achieved the rank of Silver Premier.

At Gold Premier you will return to Tiffany's to be presented with a 14k gold monogrammed Tiffany's necklace.  The charm will have the first initial of your first name.  At Platinum Premier you will be given a $1,500 Tiffany's gift card to spend as you like after your special presentation ceremony.

Perfectly Posh consultants also earn Posh Points each month on all of their sales, for attending Posh events, for rank advancements, and for each qualified frontline consultant (your personal recruits that have sold $200 or more that particular month).  Your points don't expire and can be spent on anything from a jewelry to trips!

You can also earn a shopping spree for earning the monthly award!  If you earn the award 3 times between July 1st and June 30th you will get $500 cash presented to you at a special lunch.  If you earn the award 6 times you will get $1000 and if you earn it 9 times you will receive the Annual Award and $2000 cash, plus free airfare to the city that Unconventional is held in that year.  Each month that you earn the reward you get a pretty pin and certificate.

What about trips?  Every year (lately twice every year!!) Perfectly Posh has The Incentive!  The current incentive includes prizes for every rank advancement and the top 75 consultants by rank then Team Volume at the end of the incentive will be going to Costa Rica!!  Everyone is set back to zero in the incentive at the beginning of each incentive period so anyone can earn this!
